How to Organize Your Job Search and Get the best Results
You’ve decided to move on and you need to organize your job search. You want results but are unsure how to get there? Well, you’ve come to the right place! In this article, we’ll share some tips & tricks on how to organize your job search and get the best results.
#1 step – organize job search by figuring out what you want
So you want to switch jobs, possibly careers. Good for you! Nowadays, it’s relatively easy, but you still need to know how.
Firstly, you want to think about what you want to do next. What is your target position or area of interest? How will this move impact your life, and what can you do to make it as smooth as possible? So, our first advice would be to take time to really think about it. If you want your job search to be successful, you need to first organize your thoughts about the whole thing.
#2 step – organize job search by writing your resume/CV
Once you figure out what you want to do next, it’s time to roll up your sleeves. Get ready to tell everyone how awesome you are by writing your CV (or a resume).
Keep in mind you should write it from scratch. If you need help with that, there are plenty of useful articles on our blog here.
Remember, you want to keep it simple yet informative. It needs to accurately reflect your experience and show what you have to offer.
#3 step – Use Job Boards
Organize your job search and get the best results by using job boards!
Job boards are places where you can look for jobs. They are similar to online classifieds and are used by employers to find talent. And there are plenty of them out there, for example, Monster, Indeed, ZipRecruiter and We Work Remotely to name a few. It really depends on what you’re looking for and what suits you best.
You can set alerts so you’ll get notified when something of interest pops up. We’d also recommend filling out your profile and uploading your most recent CV/resume.
#4 step – Be present on LinkedIn
Next, if you want to succeed in job search, LinkedIn is your friend!
We’ve written about it many times before and for a reason. It is the place to be to network, share opinions, look for jobs, and develop professionally.
Fill out your profile, comment on other people’s content, post content yourself, acquire new skills, and look for work. Did we mention you can do all this for free? So, what are you waiting for? Go to LinkedIn now.
